Kids & Dogs

I finally got the answer to my rental application...DECLINED! The search continues. Speaking of renting, I have new neighbors next door, they have two kids around age five. Seeing the bond between kids and dogs is a great experience, it reminds me of how beautiful life can be. My dog, Presley, is already in love with them. He used to bark at them at first, since they were just strangers to him. But now that they share their dinner with him, he loves them. I caught them throwing pieces of bread over the fence, and as much as I wanted to tell them to stop (Presley has stomach problems) I was too caught up in the moment. Here are these two kids, that do not even know Presley, and they show no fear towards a dog that is almost 100lbs. It's amazing, I see adults who are terrified of him when we walk down the sidewalk, but kids, they know. They see the kind heart he has, and they know he won't hurt them. Children and pets are the biggest gift that life gives us, at least for me. What do you think?

Of course, there are always dogs that do not like children. Like my little Roxy, she cannot stand children. They make her nervous. Always make sure you have your pets in control at all times, especially when children are present. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas. Enjoy the holidays with your family and with your loyal friends...dogs.

Good News!!!

How's everyone doing this week? Hope you're not having a horrible holiday shopping experience like I am. I could not believe it, the mall was packed on Monday morning.

Anyway, I have great news everyone!
As you may already know, I need to move out quickly to a pet-friendly home. My search has finally come to an end, for now. All I have to do is send in my rental application and voila! Let's just hope it gets approved. I completely fell in love with that home, it is perfect. My dogs will have the space they need as well. Things are looking pretty good for me, right now.

I'd like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope you spend these holidays with the people you love and your beloved pets.

My Angel

Several times in life things do not always go the way you have planned them to be. There's is always an obstacle or set back to achieve happiness. But when we finally overcome them, it's the best feeling in the world, and you always have people that love you right by your side to make it all better.

If not people, it would be your best friend, your loyal companion...your dog.

Your dog loves you no matter who you are, or what you are. Knowing that is a great relief. Even though you might get home on a really horrible day, feeling like the biggest loser ever, the dog will always put a smile on your face. Who won't let you down. You can't say that about many people out there.

I am very loyal to my dog, and he is to me. On a long day, when I work Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. (I work two jobs)I get home from work completely exhausted, and yet I still manage to find time for my dog, feed him, pet him, love him. We are completely attached to each other, we'd die without one another. He truly makes me forget about all the problems in life. When we are together it's like I travel to a world of zen, where there are no troubles to worry about. He is my angel.

Unfortunately, I am being kicked out of my house by the landlady because I won't get rid of him. Getting rid of him is definitely not an option. Finding affordable, dog-friendly homes is nearly close to impossible these days. But I will not give up. I will not give up on my angel when he has given so much happiness to my life. This is simply another minor set back, a bump on the road, that my loyal friend and I will once again overcome, together.

German Pups!

It's a rainy morning here in Los Angeles, don't forget to keep your four-legged buddies nice and warm.

My dog seems to be scared of water, but amazingly, I have not heard him complain so far. At least the rain waited to come until I got home. I worked hard all of the weekend. Saturday was a long day for me, I worked both of my jobs. It can be exhausting, but I still love them both.

The things that new pet owners tell me can be pretty funny sometimes. A man walks in with the cutest German Sheppard puppy and ask me, "Hey, what age do their ears stand up? I thought he was broken" No need to put all that pressure on your pup, love him whether or not his ears stand properly.

The German Sheppard Dog is probably one of my favorite breeds. The GSD is one of the easiest breeds to train, not to mention they have a very bold look, always poise. Now, that's my kind of dog. My dog happens to be a GSD mix, he is very intelligent, I am truly lucky to have him. What ever breed you choose to have in your home, make sure you properly train them and give them the care they need. Vaccinations should be given at 8 weeks old.

For all of you who are new to owning a puppy, have fun with this gift from mother nature, and take good care of it.

Short Intro

Good morning everyone, and welcome to my first post ever. At this very moment, I am doing something that I never thought I'd be doing...blogging. Let me tell you a bit about myself and why I created this blog.

To start off, let me confess: I am completely obsessed with everything DOG. I jump with excitement every time I see anything that has to do with dogs. How did this obsession begin? Well, I work at an animal hospital, and I have two dogs of my own. I love them very much. Work gives me the opportunity to help dogs in a way that I never thought I would be able to. I enjoy every single moment of my job, even the really nasty ones.

Why the blog?
I hope to meet people who are in love with dogs just as much, maybe more, than I do. I don't really get the chance to talk about my obsession for dogs with my friends. I just feel the need to communicate with others that feel the same way.

Let the blogging begin...
